Strategy-first test prep

Master the strategy, not just the content

One subscription · SAT + ACT + PSAT included

Lotus Test Prep teaches the cognitive skills that separate high scorers on the SAT, ACT, and PSAT. All three exams are included in every plan — start with one, switch anytime your goals change.

The StrategyFirst Difference

One subscription. One framework. Three exams.

Whether you're chasing a 1600 on the SAT, a 36 on the ACT, or National Merit on the PSAT, the underlying skills are the same — trap recognition, elimination discipline, reasoning under time pressure. Every Lotus plan covers all three so your strategy work carries across exams.

37 cognitive skills

Across passage deconstruction, answer elimination, decision execution, time management, and emotional regulation.

Decoded trap types

Every wrong answer gets a label — Almost Right, Extreme, Out of Scope, Verbose Option — plus a named defense.

5D weakness tracking

Not just '% correct by subject.' Track trap susceptibility, pacing, elimination, reasoning integrity, and confidence calibration.

What students are saying

Real strategy. Real movement.

I'd been stuck around 1450 for three practice tests. The trap susceptibility chart showed me I was falling for Almost-Right answers more than half the time. Two weeks of drilling that one pattern took me to 1530.

1450 → 1530

Coach Lotus doesn't just tell you the right answer — it walks you back through why you talked yourself into the wrong one. That changed how I read every question after.

30 → 34 composite

I used Lotus for PSAT prep over the summer and hit the National Merit cutoff. The same study plan rolled straight into my SAT track in the fall — same skills, same coach, no re-learning.

Questions, answered

The short version of what visitors ask before signing up.

What makes Lotus different from other test-prep platforms?

Most prep is volume play: more questions, smarter routing. Lotus is depth play. Every wrong answer gets a Cognitive Autopsy — we name the specific trap that caught you (one of ten), point to the strategy skill that prevents it, and track your trap susceptibility across sessions. You don't just practice more; you practice the right thing.

Does one subscription really cover all three exams?

Yes. Every Lotus plan (including the free tier) gives you access to SAT, ACT, and PSAT. Same engine, same trap taxonomy, same Coach Lotus. Switch exams anytime from the sidebar — your progress on each exam stays saved.

How does Coach Lotus know what to coach me on?

Coach Lotus draws on the specific question you're stuck on, the trap you just fell for, your personal weak spots from prior sessions, and the strategy skill that applies — so the coaching is grounded in your actual patterns, not generic advice. If a response ever drifts off SAT/ACT/PSAT topics, we replace it with a standard refusal before you see it. Details on our [safety page](/safety).

How do you make sure Coach Lotus stays on topic?

Five layers: strict instructions the coach reads every time, an input check before the coach reads your message, an output check before you see the response, a private audit log of every exchange, and a flag button on every coach message. See /safety for the full plain-language policy.

What if I'm starting from scratch and don't know my baseline?

Onboarding takes about two minutes. Tell us your target date and target score; Lotus generates a phased study plan that gets more aggressive as test day approaches. Your first practice session establishes your baseline; the plan adjusts from there.

Who built Lotus?

Lotus was built by Dr. Mickey Bansal, a physician with a background in healthcare informatics. The same rigor used to track clinical outcomes — five-dimensional analytics, evidence-grounded interventions, calibrated confidence — is applied to test prep. Strategy-first, data-grounded, no marketing fluff.

Is there a money-back guarantee?

Yes. Follow your generated study plan, complete the scheduled full-length tests, and if you don't see a 200+ point SAT lift (or equivalent on ACT/PSAT), we refund your subscription. Conditions on the pricing page.

What does the free tier actually include?

10 questions per day across any exam (SAT/ACT/PSAT), tutor mode, basic explanations, and answer tracking. No card required. Most students start here and upgrade once they want Cognitive Autopsy on every wrong answer.
